BRIEF
To produce, on behalf of Team GB and ParalympicsGB, ‘Our Greatest Team Rises’ – a spectacular start to what promises to be a sparkling year for British sport, held at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
A black tie dinner, to be held in the presence of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge honouring national sports representatives both past and present, delivering world-class entertainment while also raising money for both organisations allowing their work to continue.
WHAT WE DID
With a strong line-up, the pressure was on LarMac to develop a show format that not only provided a robust entertainment show but also an evening that delivered on formality and fundraising.
We devised and activated the format of the show, creatively developed the look and feel and delivered the event itself while also stewarding all technical delivery across the 30 hour tenancy in the building.
The evening’s impressive entertainment line up included Gary Barlow, Will Young, Melanie C, Alfie Boe, Charlie Siem, The Feeling, Kimberly Walsh, BGT winners Spelbound and many others, uniting Team GB and ParalympicsGB for both the Olympics and Paralympics in the run up to the summer Games.
The equally high-profile guest list for the black tie event was topped by TeamGB Ambassadors like Sir Steve Redgrave, Dame Kelly Holmes, Denise Lewis OBE and Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. They joined over 3000 people for dinner with exquisite gastronomy created by Michelin starred chef, Simon Hulstone, who on the night was mentored by Heston Blumental.
The evening was hosted by TV personality Davina McCall and comedian John Bishop, along with special guest presenters including Dermot O’Leary and Bear Grylls abseiling to stage from the auditorium roof.
LarMac were recommended to produce the show both technically and creatively based on their recent work and extensive knowledge and experience of the venue and we worked creatively with the Allstars Collective to facilitate musical performances for a key event sponsor as well as other guests artists, and for the first live performance of the official Our Greatest Team song ‘One Vision’ with Alfie Boe, Kimberly Walsh and the Youth Music Voices.
Here’s to Team GB and ParalympicsGB, and their summer ahead!
