WHO WE ARE

We are a Creative & Production Business.

Nothing more, but most certainly nothing less.

Run by Ian Greenway & Jo Mackay, LarMac LIVE is responsible for
Producing and Technically Managing events ranging from private
parties on Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island to the 750,000
audience Live Earth Rio concert.

We work across both live music and corporate sectors, and find
that working practises and skill sets that are typically split between
the two are more transposable than ever. We have rock n’ roll
heads but understand corporate events and why brands do them.

Most importantly, we listen.

Whatever your project, and regardless of scale, we work hard to
guide and deliver your vision and create a lasting experience
time after time.

WHAT WE DO

BESTIVAL

BRIEF

To Produce and Stage the annual Bestival music festival at the Isle of Wight’s Robin Hill Country Park. Working in to Event Management company Loud Sound, to Produce the event; develop production infrastructure and show designs to accommodate 365 artists, over 19 performance stages during the 4 music days of the event.

WHAT WE DID

LarMac have long history with Bestival, having worked on the very first event in 2004. Bestival has since grown considerably, now welcoming 45,000 a day over the extended festival weekend.

With the depth of Bestival’s creativity and the experience it gives, the volume of artists and stages also rises significantly year on year and so LarMac had to re-think the usual models and systems used on putting together large-scale music events. Given the constraints that a show of this nature lays down (site access limitations, prolonged stage timings and a more days of music than your typical festival show), we restructured supplier deals across the entire site ensuring crews had the time to focus on detail and ran 24hr stage management teams to allow us to deliver the show and facilitate the large number of changeovers and technical re-designs night after night.

CREAMFEILDS

BRIEF

To manage all technical elements of Creamfields UK, on behalf of Cream and Loud Sound Events. To liaise with all artists, and deliver a show that is not only suitable for them but also delivers a second to none festival-goer experience.

WHAT WE DID

Creamfields UK, winner of 2010’s Best Dance Festival at the UK festival Awards, saw it’s 2011 show eclipse the monumental 2010 event with a sell-out crowd of 55,000.

The event, which for the first time featured a second outdoor stage, featured performances from dance a-listers including The Chemical Brothers, Tiesto, David Guetta, Armin van Buuren and Swedish House mafia.

Together with the two outdoor structures Creamfields ran 9 further tented spaces (the biggest being a 10,000 capacity arena!) running in to the small hours, running for the first time for a third day.

LarMac have worked hand in hand with the promoter to develop the show in to the premier dance event in the UK, if not the world, and are looking forward to 2012…..

MTV EMAS

BRIEF

To work alongside the TV Show Producer and Event manager to manage all technical and production design elements of band performances during the MTV European Music Awards (EMAs) events in Liverpool, Berlin and Madrid.

WHAT WE DID

In our role as Band Producer on the MTV EMAs, we were solely responsible for management of all technical and creative artist performances that form part of the mammoth TV production.

With typically 8 or 9 artists, all with bespoke and elaborate production LarMac continue to manage all aspects of artist production together with design elements of the globally-broadcasted live televised show.

DIFC

BRIEF

To stage the third annual celebration for the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), in front of 2500 specially invited VIPs and key members of the UAE Royal Family. To stand out against a series of global events, designed to procure international clients and add longevity to existing relationships within the banking and financial markets sector.

WHAT WE DID

For the third successive year, LarMac worked as Producer with Dubai based HQ Creative LLC to conceptualise, develop and deliver DIFCs renowned annual celebration.

The one night event required careful planning, allowing temporary structures (staging, seating and support) to be built on top of existing buildings and in a way that wouldn’t impede the day to business activities of the Dubai International Financial Centre.

Our intense and dramatic event included a 174 metre wide projection screen, one of the largest of its time, together with a kabuki drop revealing the 350 strong State Academic Choir of Armenia, 78 Lebanese Ladies Choir, the 95 piece Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra, 28 members of the local Youth Choir, 10 soloists and a rousing performance by internationally acclaimed Il Divo.

Result being, a radically different departure from a typical corporate event. The DIFC Annual Celebration pushed technical know-how, pooled together the talent of nearly 100 international entertainment specialists, shook with nearly 2500 pyrotechnic component and absorbed 600 hotel rooms, flights and VISA applications.

PINKTOBER

BRIEF

To Produce a new show for Hard Rock International; Women of Rock.To put together a lively, female-led, Gala-type show at London’s Royal Albert Hall in aid of the Gloria Hunniford run Caron Keating Foundation.

WHAT WE DID

As the climax to Hard Rock Internationals 10th anniversary of PINKTOBER , Women of Rock hit the Royal Albert Hall marking the end of a month of fundraising around the world in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness.

The show was structured around 11 leading female artists (including Melanie C, Bonnie Tyler, The Cast of Mamma Mia and special guest Queen’s Brian May),
multiple high profile presenters and a series of emotional and captivating videos.

Responsible for all elements of show delivery, LarMac scheduled the show, devised VT needs, designed the look and feel of the set and worked closely with our House Band, The All Stars, to provide backing to all performers while always making sure that the show was exciting from tart to finish!

With all charity shows, LarMac understand the balance of delivering a cost effective show while also giving a take-home that guests want to replicate year on year. It’s by brokering deals with suppliers that we use throughout the year and using our understanding of where corners can be cut without affecting the show that we can truly make events like this really work hard for the cause.

NEWS

SCREW BUSINESS AS USUAL!

Well, not our words, but some very wise ones indeed.
LarMac handled the production for the launch event of Sir Richard Branson’s brand new book – Screw Business As Usual, held at The Hub on London’s Haymarket.
The book takes a timely look at how business can actually be a force for good and change rather than solely reaping dividends, and with all proceeds go to Virgin Unite it really is a must read. Buy the book here!

BESTIVAL!

What other way to finish the 2011 summer, but Sunday Best’s Bestival!
The sun rarely shined on us, but what we dis see is the LarMac team production managing over 20 stages, across the 4 days of the event at Isle of Wight’s Robin Hill Country Park.
Time to wash the mud off those flight cases… it’s been a wet (but fantastic!!) summer! Here’s looking forward to 2012.

CREAMFIELDS 2011

What an event! Even torrential rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of the 60,000 fans who made the annual pilgrimage to the UK’s premier dance festival.

2 outdoor stages & 7 bigtop / tent structures were packed full of equipment and superstar DJ’s who, along with the weather, certainly provided a stiff technical challenge for the LML team. Thankfully we kept dry & managed to deliver a truly memorable show.

Let’s do it all again next year…!

CAMP BESTIVAL

For the 2nd year running, LML supplied the full technical production package for all main stages and performance areas at the 2011 Camp Bestival event, staged in the beautiful grounds of Lulworth Castle in Dorset.

This unique 30,000 capacity event, which is orientated towards children and young people, is a favourite amongst the LML team.

SENSATIONAL

Last weekend the LarMac LIVE team joined 10,000 revellers, dressed head to toe in white, at the O2 in London to celebrate the arrival of Sensation’s amazing Ocean of White show.

As the Local Production Managers, LML worked closely with the teams from Sensation, RPM and the O2 to deliver a truly world class dance event. We even donned our finest white outfits in honour of the occasion (pictures not provided…)!

OUR FIRST SONISPHERE

Staged in the grounds of beautiful Knebworth House, this year’s Sonisphere Festival saw a glittering feast of metallic aristocracy! Headlined by Metallica, Biffy Clyro and Slipknot, a sold out audience of 60,000 fans made this a festival to remember for the LarMac team. Looking forward to 2012 already!

FIRENZE ROCKED

On Monday the 4th of July LarMac Live celebrated the grand opening of the Hard Rock Cafe Florence.

Providing event & full technical production management services, this free concert in the Piazza della Repubblica drew a crowd of 10,000 fans to watch Simple Minds officially open Hard Rock’s newest Cafe!

WE HAVE GROWN

We are delighted to announce that Anthony Norris has joined the LarMac LIVE team as Project / Business Development Manager.

Anthony’s career began in television before moving into festivals and events so he brings with him a wealth of experience spanning both industries.

Laura Hall is with us for the summer season working on festivals with the team. Having met LarMac on MTVs EMAs, it’s Festival time for Laura…..

THE BIG WEEKEND…

….our busiest ever!
We continued our exceptionally busy summer providing full technical production and management services for two major festivals over the same weekend – Rockness in Inverness, on the shores of Scotland’s most famous Loch, and the LED Festival at Victoria Park, London.
Simultaneously, the design division of LarMac LIVE created a fabulous environment in the VIP areas for Absolute Radio and promoters Solo at the Isle of Wight Festival. For the first year at this event, we also managed the artist garden area and dealt with the logistical elements of setting up the area and ensuring the main sponsors had a prominent presence.
